Dear Readers,
Welcome to our second newsletter. We have received many positive
acknowledgements and feedbacks to our information about news
in the e-meetings industry, and we would like to thank you all
for the support!
Eveni is now two years old. Looking back to our start, we can
say that it was a hard road to success because it was not easy
to convince customers and partners that an online-solution can
save a lot of money and time when organizing a conference or
event.
However, today we are proud, that we have a proven solution.
Eveni was running very stable during the past two years and
supported many customers with an outstanding service.
Throughout these two years, we have continuously improved our
solution matching the requirements of our customers.
We want to celebrate our birthday also with our readers of this

several international academic conferences. To ensure a high
level of quality of the presentations, most conferences start
with a call for paper, evaluate and review the submitted contributions
(abstracts and/or papers) and choose the best ones for the presentations
based on various peer-review-processes. Until a few years ago
this was a very large workload for the program committee. Today
you can save more than 50% of your time by using modern methods
and tools for collaboration. Consider for example one of our
users who had to assign 470 contributions (documents) to 260
experts for the peer reviewing.

24.-26. August 2004 in Zurich
This was the first “real” trade show, where Eveni
was presented.
In global, the exhibition was a success and we met interesting
people and discussed many exciting aspects.

New hardware for the front-end servers of Eveni.
After two years of a successful operation of our servers, we
will migrate to a more powerful infrastructure.
In these days we have installed a more powerful type of hardware
for the front-end applications of Eveni. These Linux-Servers
run with two Xeon-CPUs. Disks with high RAID-level and three
redundant power supplies ensure a very reliable service. This
is a further step to continuously improve our services to our
customers.

At the end of September 2002 we founded the company Eveni AG.
Together with our first customers we improved the Eveni solution
to be ready for the market place. The joint development helped
us to stay close to the requirements of our customers.
Today we have handled many different types of conferences and
events and the software and systems are running very stable
and reliable.
During the first two years our customers were mainly in Switzerland.
But today, we are providing our services more and more to International
customers outside Switzerland. Thanks to the Internet, e-business
solutions can run everywhere at any time.
